A CHRIST-CENTERED SPIRITUALITY

Last time in the subject Missionary Spirituality, we discussed about its Christological perspectives/ dimensions. With this, I understand and appreciate more the words of St. Paul to the Galatians saying "...it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me." (Gal. 2:20). This means that a person who aspires to become a missionary means he/ she aspires to become like Christ.

Furthermore, the spirituality of a missionary is a spirit centered to Christ, that is, one in Christ.

I realized that without this spirit centered to Christ, one's missionary work will become fruitless, useless and meaningless.

One's intimate or personal relationship with Christ qualifies one's discipleship. Eventually, a missionary who shares in the lifestyle of Jesus Christ turns to be "consecrated" disciple who believes, hopes and loves.

I learned also that a missionary who centered his/ her life to Christ, as his/ her ultimate source of grace and blessings, has the attitude of communion with God, communion with others and communion with oneself.

Nevertheless, a missionary moves according to the movement (or inspiration) from the Trinity. This means that a missionary who is Christ-centered is a missionary knows very well the "science" of relationship.
